As a former BBC journalism trainee, Mirren is well versed in broadcast journalism and has made multiple appearances on both TV and radio.

While reporting on the Paris and Brussels terrorist attacks she gave interviews to Sky News, CNN, BBC 5Live and LBC about the situation on the ground.

In London she has appeared on BBC World News and TRT World to talk about a range of terrorism and security stories. During her time at Newsweek she held a regular slot as one of BBC 5 Live's night editors. She also co-hosted and produced Newsweek's first podcast, Newsweek's Foreign Service.

This summer she presented an episode of Channel 4's award-winning documentary series, Unreported World, which was released in October. Though now very comfortable in front of the camera, she remains uncomfortable talking about herself in the third person.
